The Open Tech Day 2025 Talks – Grafana Edition: Unified Observability: Leveraging ClickHouse as a Comprehensive Telemetry Database & Grafana Dashboards as Prompt
September 23 All day

The Open Tech Day – Grafana Edition Conference brings together professionals from various sectors to explore topics such as Grafana’s latest features, real-world applications, and best practices in monitoring. In addition to technical content, Open Tech Day 2025 offers opportunities for networking and exchange within the open source and observability communities.
Our Altinity colleagues will share with us their knowledge through the following talks:
- Grafana Dashboards as Prompt – Denys Kondratenko
Thanks to the Grafana Foundation SDK, dashboards as code are much more stable and interesting to use. Using libraries such as Grafonnet and Mixins packaging it is possible to create observability libraries like Jsonnet lib. However, if you don’t do this regularly, it is hard to maintain knowledge about Jsonnet and specific libs. In this talk, we will check how modern LLMs can help us bootstrap, generate, and maintain Grafana dashboards.
- Unified Observability: Leveraging ClickHouse as a Comprehensive Telemetry Database – Alkin Tezuysal
This talk supports the Kubernetes and observability ecosystem by showcasing how to consolidate metrics, logs, traces, and eBPF data into a unified backend using ClickHouse. It demonstrates how teams can reduce tool sprawl, simplify their observability pipelines, and improve troubleshooting across distributed systems. By integrating with open standards like OpenTelemetry and tools like Prometheus, Jaeger, and Grafana, this approach promotes scalable, open-source observability practices within cloud-native environments.
