The FOSSASIA Summit 2026 will take place on March 9–10, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand, and our colleague, Alkin Tezuysal, will be talking about Project Antalya!
Modern analytics teams need real-time performance without the high cost of traditional storage at scale. Project Antalya is Altinity’s open-source extension to ClickHouse that enables this by separating compute from storage and integrating shared Iceberg tables on object storage.
This talk introduces Antalya’s architecture, shows how to run it with Docker and Kubernetes, and explains the key design trade-offs around performance, scalability, and ClickHouse compatibility. Attendees will learn how ClickHouse can deliver interactive analytics directly on Iceberg data, where the project is headed, and how to evaluate Antalya for real-world analytics workloads.

Alkin Tezuysal – Director of Services at Altinity Inc.
Alkin Tezuysal is the Director of Services at Altinity Inc. He has extensive experience in open-source relational databases, working in various sectors and large functions. With over three decades of industry experience, he has led global operations teams for MySQL and ClickHouse customers and users. He’s a known speaker at worldwide open-source database events.
His recent achievements extend into open-source communities: He was awarded Most Influential in Database Community 2022 by The Redgate 100. He has co-authored MySQL Cookbook, 4th Edition 2022, by O’Reilly Media, Inc. He was awarded MySQL Rockstar 2023—Oracle (MySQL Community)—Co-authored Database Design and Modeling with PostgreSQL and MySQL 2024 by Pack, Oracle ACE Pro 2025 – Oracle ACE Program.
