# Redpanda and a ClickHouse® Operator UI: December ‘21 SF Bay Area ClickHouse Meetup

The final SF Bay Area ClickHouse Meetup for 2021 took place on December 15th. We have videos and slides for a couple of fine talks to share. If you would like to see the full meetup video, check out the [YouTube live stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD_vTvvGYxQ).

## Summary of talks

The first talk was from Roko Kruze of Vectorized. Roko presented on Redpanda and ClickHouse. [Redpanda](https://github.com/vectorizedio/redpanda) is a high performance event platform that has received rave reviews for high throughput and low latency. It has Kafka-compatible APIs with simple administration. Roko’s talk introduces Redpanda, digs into the architecture, and shows how to connect it to ClickHouse. Here is the [video link on Youtube](https://youtu.be/dDcZQGqvn1Y). If you just want to jump to the slides, they are [here](https://www.slideshare.net/Altinity/redpanda-and-clickhouse).

The second talk was from Graham Mainwaring and Robert Hodges of Altinity. The talk introduced a new user interface for the [ClickHouse Operator for Kubernetes](https://github.com/Altinity/clickhouse-operator) called [Altinity Dashboard](https://github.com/Altinity/altinity-dashboard). (Youtube video link [here](https://youtu.be/-NIT6sYg2oc).) It allows users to install the operator and bring up clusters through a pure web interface that also shows the state of both operator and ClickHouse resources within Kubernetes. Altinity encourages users to try out the operator and send feedback. Slides are [here](https://www.slideshare.net/Altinity/data-warehouses-in-kubernetes-visualized-the-clickhouse-kubernetes-operator-ui); there is also a [blog article from Graham](https://altinity.com/blog/introducing-the-altinity-dashboard-a-ui-for-the-clickhouse-operator) that provides more details.

Both talks prompted many questions, and we also had the usual Q&A on ClickHouse itself. Thanks to Denis Zhuravlev (aka Denny Crane) for attending and helping to answer on ClickHouse topics.

The first SF Bay Area ClickHouse Meetup for 2022 is scheduled for [February 16 at 12pm PT](https://www.meetup.com/San-Francisco-Bay-Area-ClickHouse-Meetup/events/282872933/). You can RSVP now. We have talks lined up on the ClickHouse Roadmap for 2022 as well as a special presentation from [Materialize](https://github.com/MaterializeInc/materialize) on building materialized views from real-time event streams. Give us a shout at [info@altinity.com](mailto:info@altinity.com) if you have something you would like to present. We love to add new projects.

Until then, Happy New Year!
